So you’ve written your book, or you’ve written some of it, or a lot of it, but you’re not sure how to proceed. Why not book in for a personalised pre-publication planning session?

How does the pre-publication planning session (PPPS) work?

We’ll ask you to answer some questions on the next page to help us better understand your self-publishing plans, aims, thoughts, etc.

Once you submit that form, you’ll be taken to a calendar page to book your appointment – usually at least a fornight in advance to give us time to review your answers and manuscript

Once we have your booking, we’ll send you an email and ask you to provide your manuscript.

Once we receive your manuscript, we’ll send you an invoice (unless you qualified for a free PPPS). The invoice will need to be settled at least 7 days before your appointment.

Once the invoice is settled, we’ll review your manuscript with your answers to our questions and make some notes about what we think you could do with your book.

Then we’ll call you at the appointed time for about half an hour so we can chat about those ideas.

After the call, we’ll formalise our notes and suggestions in a report and send it to you so that you can work out what to do next based on what suits you, your budget and your aims for your self-publishing project.

What sort of information we will provide you?

Some of the suggestions in our report might be regarding the format you release your book in (e.g. print, ebook or both, and the reasons for that suggestion).

Or we might make some suggestions regarding editing (e.g. developmental, structural, copy editing, proofreading), illustrations, marketing – anything that springs to mind as a result of our communications and looking at your book and your plans for it.

What does it cost?

Our pre-publication planning session requires an investment of $330 (including GST). But it’s a no-hassle, no-obligation service. We won’t be calling you, emailing you, trying to get you to publish with us once it’s done. We may check in with you a few months down the track to see how you’re going with your book if the discussion we had indicates that you’d be happy about that, but this is not a sales call.

The aim of this service is to help you work out the best next steps for you, and sometimes, that means you won’t end up using our services. If you do come back to us, then great, but that’s not the idea, not the ‘purpose of the service’.

In fact, some people may choose to hold off publishing while they rethink and rework aspects of their book. And that’s okay.

Again – this service is about working out what’s right for you. Because if it’s not right for you, then it won’t be right for us.

Now for the best news!

Once we’ve sent our report, we’ll also send you a credit note for $200. If you do come back and publish your book with us within 12 months, we’ll apply that credit note to your publishing package, reducing the base price by $200!
