Soni Charanjeet

Currently the Head of the Professional Year Program at the Australian Technical and Management College in Sydney, Soni Charanjeet holds a Master of Business Administration from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and a postgraduate degree in financial markets. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, he has worked with blue chip organisations, managed big teams and projects and worked in senior leadership roles within multinational organisations in domestic and international markets. He possesses strong management experience, most recently within the education industry, managing operations for more than 5000 students.

Soni has a passion for education and his experience in the higher education space has been rewarding and helped him link theoretical knowledge with real, practical experience. He has taught decision-making, accounting, leadership, business finance and economics to international students in leading Australian universities.

A professional who excels in his field, Soni has won many awards, and received accolades for his achieve­ments. In banking, he had the highest market share growth in 2016 for his district, ranked No. 1 across overall measures for FY15–16 at ANZ, has travelled with dele­gations to India and China to promote business, achieved 93% employee engagement for his district, and topped his cohort at university during his postgraduate degree.

Soni lives life on his own terms, following a strict code of values and principles that he has set for himself. He believes in a good work–life balance and values family and personal relationships. He loves relaxing by the pool at home with his wife Kamini and son Gurman, and cooking and experimenting in the kitchen helps him to unwind. In his spare time, he enjoys teaching, blogging, and involve­ment in commercial investment and share markets.
