Adrianna Bogdanovski

Poetry; Love Poetry.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Adrianna Bogdanovski is the youngest of three sisters. She has a Bachelors’ Degree in Media and Communications: Journalism as well as a Masters’ Degree in Digital Marketing Communications from La Trobe University. Adrianna’s passion for writing started at a young age, having always excelled in English during her school years and constantly journaling or blogging in her spare time. Having pursued journalism, Adrianna was able to keep her passion for writing alive, although she felt as though she wrote best when it came to matters of the heart. Cross my heart and hope to try is Adrianna’s first book and she describes it as an homage to her life.

“The phrase ‘cross my heart and hope to die’ is usually used in place of an ‘I promise’ or ‘I swear’ – an unwavering commitment to tell the truth. All any of us ever do in this lifetime is try. Try to love, find love, be loved, and find ourselves in the process. Cross my heart and hope to try is my unwavering commitment to never stop trying in this lifetime”.

cross my heart and hope to try

This is Adrianna's first book and is a carefully curated collection of poems about love, loss and healing. This is the story of individual and simultaneously universal emotions felt in the highest highs of an all-encompassing love and the lowest lows of a happily never after. The story transitions from heartbreak to healing in a way that inspires the reader to find the love they longed for within themselves. This book allows readers to share in vulnerability and embrace feeling, whilst empowering them to understand that the love we hold inside of us is powerful enough to transcend beyond 'he' or 'she' and instead, focus on 'me'.
