Beale Stainton

memoir

Beale Stainton was born in 1984 in Gisborne, New Zealand. His ancestry is the story of early New Zealand itself, a blend of pioneering European gentlemen and highly esteemed Maori women. A deep fascination with the world beyond rural/small town New Zealand began at a young age. He describes his first love as "an Atlas and a set of Britannica Encyclopaedias, proudly displayed in the family lounge". His tribal affiliations are Te Whanau o Tuwhakairiora of Hicks Bay and Ngati Pahauwera of Mohaka. He currently lives in Australia and calls Coogee Beach home.

From Behind the Machine is his first published novel.
