The Mackay-Pioneer Valley Arts Council Writers Group was established in 1985 to answer a recognised need for a group catering to the people who love to write. Since then, many members have come and gone, and others have stayed. We find motivation and inspiration in meeting and sharing our efforts, and developing the craft of writing through workshops.

Writers from Mackay in tropical Australia have penned their stories and poetry for their third anthology. Themes cover the environment, romance, the human experience, science-fiction, fantasy, horror, and humour to name a few. Like the title, Driftwood, the writers drift along the tides of life recording their imagined world view to bring entertainment and insights to the readers' shores.
